Coaching request and response
Hi folks
This is a letter I received from a 66 year old gentleman who is not only looking to make a change but NEEDING to make a change and so he contacted me with regards to some professional coaching moving forward.
I hope it provides you with some good insights into the changes that are needed to be made.
Please note, I have with held his name and additional details for reasons of confidentiality.
Hi *Name withheld”
Great to hear from you!
Yes, indeed we are going to be offering some mentoring / coaching services in the next couple of months.
One question I have got to ask you is “What is it that is stopping you from taking action?”
If you believe its something “deeply ingrained in your subconscious”, then you have got to use your conscious mind to override that…. If there are any negative beliefs in there then you need to see yourself taking action and getting some results before you actually start to erode those negative beliefs.
The fact of the matter is that any of those subjects you have touched on will provide you with good income but only once you get through the “learning curve” – and all the challenges that you will face. The biggest challenge with this is keeping the focus and the commitment everyday to make a change – does that make sense?
As far as you reading motivational and personal development books, that is all brilliant! HOWEVER, there has to be a time when you stop “reading” and start “doing”. Only when you start taking action, do you get a result…. and when it’s still early days, I can guarantee you that the result you get initially will be a “fail” – but that’s fine.
You see where you made your mistakes and then correct them and make a change from there. It is really “trial and error”, even with the direction given from training.
There is no Holy Grail or magic wand…. Well, if there is, I haven’t found it yet!!
Secondly, I would suggest that you choose one of those paths and stick to it. It’s no good going from one steam of income to another to another after you don’t get an immediate positive result. You have got to get through the “learning curve” of any one stream of income before you start becoming successful at it.
Think about it, how long did it take you to become proficient at photography? It’s the same with anything else.
My suggestion is that you select one of the passive forms of income that you can relate to and that you enjoy.
If you enjoy what you are learning about, then you will find the learning curve a lot easier to go through. If you enjoy what you are doing, then the chances are that you will get the process right and the outcome will be the money you earn.
However, if you are only interested by the money (which is the outcome) the chances are that you will not be able to get the process right – and failing to get the process right will result in you not getting the outcome that you wanted….
Does that make sense?

P.S. I DO really believe that you can be successful …. now we have just got to get YOU to believe it.
P.P.S. Would you be okay with me using this email as an example that may be able to help other people? I will delete any reference to your name so as to keep your confidentiality …?

I hope you got a fair amount of understanding from this folks.
Direction is one thing, but action is whats so critical.

I have got to agree! It sounds pretty simple in theory and straight forward but the difference between having someone to coach / mentor you and not having one is VAST!
