I just saw an interview with Steve Jobs who has become even more of a GREAT inspiration to people since his tragic passing. Now, there have been so many people who have documented his great sayings and thoughts on business, success and life, especially people copy, pasteing and quoting via social media.
I was watching an interview with him and Bill Gates recently and he was talking about something I could really relate to in the wake of the last few months and the success that we have been blessed with regarding to our MOBIvation text messaging business.
What Jobs said was that to be truly successful at something, you have to be passionate about it. Now, I guess any right minded individual would say “well, that makes sense”, but how many of those right minded individuals out there are doing jobs that they are not truly passionate about?
In researching some of the most successful people out there, they seem to be people who would be doing what has made them successful and very wealthy, even if they weren’t being paid for it. They would be doing it for free.
This brings me back to this fairy tale 3 months that MOBIvation has been living, all culminating with the Business Innovation of the Year awards last Thursday.
All the support and new interest that we have received has been absolutely awe-inspiring. So much of this support and momentum that we have achieved has been has been down to our MOBIvation clients. Our clients are passionate go getters. People who are either at the top or fast getting to the top of their area of ability. People who aspire to bigger things and will be successful in what they are focused on – NO DOUBT. People who are prepared to push the boundaries and are truly passionate about living life on the terms that they chose. As you can imagine, when you have people like THESE around you, there is no way you ever take a step backwards and you are running with an very powerful group of people.
I was fortunate enough to be accompanied to the awards ceremony last week with a number of my clients and friends, which I REALLY appreciated. Tickets were not cheap and Thursday nights can often be busy too. One of these people turned to me and said to me something that REALLY struck a chord with me. He said “I still remember when we first met bro, 3 years ago. You were telling me about this text messaging service that you were providing to support people who were wanting to achieve greatness… but you were doing it out of your own pocket. When it was costing you £250/m to send text messages all over the world and people were thinking you were crazy….! This is why MOBIvation have covered so much ground in such a short time!”
That was pretty cool to hear and why you need to have good people around you. They keep your feet on the ground and remind you where you came from… It’s all about having good people around you!
If you are wanting to make some changes or improve your business or start working in something that gives you true job satisfaction, the best guidance I can give you is find something that you love find a way to service people with it and then the easy part is to put a business process around it and make some money from it. When you are being paid for something that you love doing so much that you would do it for free (or pay to do it!!), that lays the foundation for a GREAT life!
Thanks to all of my clients for your incredible support and guidance. None of us do this alone!
Have a GREAT day y’all!
